Today I finished my first volunteer assignment for the Autistic Self-Advocacy Network. It took me over 8 hours and was supposed to take three to five. I'm hoping the care I took will pay off in less time on the second draft.

We are writing a booklet to introduce autism to folks who are newly diagnosed. It will be at three reading levels - adult, 3rd grade, and 6th grade. I wrote two chapters in two versions for adults and kids.

I hope this writing experience will eventually help me get a paid writing job. btw, my husband is a good proofreader.
