Have you ever had a person interfere with the diagnoses process that wasn't specifically trained in ASD?

LOL.

I signed a consent form today to allow an ASD diagnostician to gather information about me.

I won't allow them to contact family. My mum will go to her grave believing me to be an idle, good for nothing, drama queen who has squandered his potential.

I don't know what's worse, what your Ma thinks of you or my Ma thinking I'm god's gift to mankind and that I hold infinite responsibility due to my "intellectual gifts".

My mother thought the questions were part of an effort to upgrade my security clearance.

Surely the person looking into your background has encountered plenty of parents who think poorly of their children and must know how to read between the lines to a certain degree. Unless you think you mom will outright lie about your actions, her telling someone else what she perceived your motivations to be have been could be still be incredibly useful for a diagnosis.
