Do you like them? Why or why not?
I do not. I find I get socially anxious...Don't know what to do. And then there's the fact that dancing, drinking, and meeting new people just isn't fun. XD
It's different if it's more of a get together with close friends, and we are actually doing something, though.

No.

But if for some reason I ever had to go; [a lot of] free booze and a vacant linen cupboard away from people would be required.

I don't like them. I always end up sitting alone or with my family. When I do have conversations, they are awkward because I do not understand the art of 'the social verbal dance'.

I find reading a good book, playing on the computer, or just sitting listening to the world around me much more enjoyable then being in a crowd of a bunch of drunken people bumping into each other.

Maybe if I got drunk enough, I could enjoy it (I tried that before & I only ended up getting sick). Plus, I absolutely hate when others drive; so I don't drink more than one beer so I can drive home safely.

It depends on what is going on at that party and the attitudes of the people there. If there's plenty of food from a place I like, the party is the place for me to be. If there isn't any food or food I wouldn't eat anyway, and a lot of rude people, laughing too loudly or gossiping endlessly about others, I tune them out and start thinking about stuff I like. These types, generally, ignore me and I ignore them. I am left wishing I were elsewhere. If they get too loud and laughy I get a bit more agitated. If I am with someone I know really well I start complaining about having to be there. If It's a place I don't want or have to be, I leave.
So much for parties.
With polite people and good food they are okay.

If they are family parties, their nothing so I don't mind them. I never even have attempted to go to any actual social parties (nor have I been invited to). I know that if I ever did go, I'd most likely hate it.

Depends on the party. If there is a lot of noise, then I don't like them. If there are a lot of people I don't know, or don't know well, then I don't like them. If it's a quiet party with people I know very well, and there is lots of food that I like, and I'm free to sit nibbling the food and not socialising, or chatting quietly with just a couple of people, then I'm happy. Mostly I like parties for food!

Alternatively, if it's a structured party with games that I find enjoyable, then I like that too.

I enjoy them for the most part, but there has been the occasional one in which I've wished the ground would open up and swallow me. I can't do them wthout alcohol, though.

I don't care much for parties. If I must go, I bring a book to read and stay pretty much to myself in a quiet place. So it's boredom, social anxiety, and the feeling that I'm wasting time that could be better spent that makes me dislike going to parties. I like Holiday parties spent with my family in familiar surroundings best.

Depends on the type of party, but mostly I hate them and avoid them if possible.

I can't stand the noise, I get stressed with so many people around, and when people get drunk...it freaks me out, so parties are not for me.

I don't mind the food and stuff, and it can be enjoyable with people I know. But the socialising makes it somewhat unenjoyable.

I like the food there and games. I also went to a sleepover last night and only three showed up and us four played Mario Party 7 and then one of them left and three of us played two rounds of Skip Bo. Not really a party but it seemed like it because we had pizza and games, toys, and cartoons and story time which we never did. We only did cartoons and games and had food.

There has to be a good reason for me to go to a party or I won't go. I have to know ahead of time who is going. If there is nobody going who I find attractive or if anyone I don't like is going, I won't go. I'll use any excuse not to go really: I have to save money, I have to spend time with my cat, I don't want to drink (and if I'm going I usually have to), I'm tired, I have too much to do tomorrow. I'm full of pre-thought out excuses. Now I don't even really try anymore, I just say I don't want to be around people. I'll go to a club but that's only because my need to find a boyfriend over powers my need to avoid people. Once I get there I'm totally uncomfortable and usually can't wait to get home.
