ASD actually means "autism spectrum disorder". Not sure what the abbreviation for "aspergers" is supposed to be. Maybe just "AS"?

Good question. Don't know proportion of the circa 1.5 percent of the population who ASD are LFA, and how many are HFA/aspergers.

Its hard to track that stat down on the net. Hard to find a place where they break it down by level of functioning.

The Center For Disease Control has bar graphs of autistics by state, by gender, and by IQ.

Low IQ is around 30 percent, borderline by another 30 percent, and average to high IQ around forty percent.

From memory (back in the DSM-IV-TR days):

1/4 AS
1/4 LFA/HFA
2/4 PDD-NOS
