When was was younger, before my 20s especially I used to hate things on my face, I couldn't wear sunglasses, scarves, or skimasks as I found it annoying and uncomfortable. Then once I hit my 20s, especially mid 20s I completely did a 180. I'm now the opposite of what I was say 5-10 years ago. I now like things on my face, or at least don't mind them, and I now can't live without my sunglasses these days. It seems I've become more photosensitive as I've aged which isn't too surprising as my mother is photosensitive and has been all her life. Nowadays going outside on a sunny day and even some cloudy days without sunglasses is a horrible idea and I usually end up with a nasty headache, or eyes that hurt for awhile. It's also the same change that's allowed me to wear Zentai suits (full body spandex suits) and even sleep in them comfortably. Granted one peeve I still have is when my face gets sweaty, then I'm not liking it too much. Anyone else had the same thing, or anything similar which they used to hate, or would never wear or do, but now do?

I couldn't stand to wear jeans as a child or young teen. They were too stiff and itchy, I felt like they really restricted my movement, the zip and button were too difficult for me to undo and fasten, etc. However, when I was 15, I decided I really wanted to wear jeans, so I bought a pair that seemed to fit well, and I wore them at home for a while and even slept in them for several nights in a row until I finally got used to them. Now I think jeans are very comfortable and I wear them all the time.

There are probably more things, but that's the only one I can think of right now.

I used to dislike olives but now I love them. it took a good 10 years to get from disliking them to liking them. similarly, I used to hate mushrooms but now I can tolerate them and will eat them when I am offered, however I still don't like them. I wonder if I will ever enjoy the taste and texture of mushrooms like I eventually figured out I could about olives. I'm pretty damn set on never enjoying the taste or texture of animal meat though.

I've found that over the years I've become desensitized to many things that I physically could not stand when I was younger, like clothing tags, seams, etc.. Unfortunately they have been replaced by a newfound appreciation (ie much greater discomfort recognized) for others, like the sounds of someone chewing/smacking/breathing and trypophobia.
