I'm pretty sure BOCES is primarily a NYS program for starters.
My son is getting older and we are having too many issues where we are currently with people mismanaging him because they simply don't understand his personal experiences and how they impact him personally. I am fed up with it at this point - my son was being pushed into a seclusion room without our knowledge or consent and trying to work it out with his district by trying to educate them has instead turned into enabling what I feel like is bordering on abuse.
We are about read to pick up and move. We're also about 97% positive that most any school would hesitate to put him into inclusion because of how he looks thanks to what has been going on. So I am looking for personal feelings about BOCES and if you felt it was helpful or not. Please include how long ago you attended so I can get a feel for whether it's possible there's been degradation or improvmenet to programs.
