Has anyone ever thought of changing their name. And if so which part-first, middle, or last?

First and middle. I was named with variations of the names of both grandfathers & the names do not fit me at all. Plus, there's a backstory to the long history my first name that I don't agree with from a moral standpoint. I've tried different variations of them and the fit is no better; they don't reflect who I am at all, nor who I want to be for the rest of my life.

I like my first and middle name, Ezra Shea. Never thought about how they reflect my interests. My grandpa nicknamed me "Shutterbug Shea" because I love taking pictures.

Nah, I like my name for the most part. Nobody can pronounce or spell my last name, which can be tiresome at times, but I also enjoy having a unique last name.

(In my culture, we don't have any middle names, but we can have up to 3 first names.)
I have 3 first names and I always hated the first one. Since I was little, I've always insisted to be called by my second name, which sounds much better and happy coincidence, reflects my interest for astronomy.
Sadly laws make it extremely difficult, if not almost impossible, to change names. So I'm stuck with an official first name I hate. As a result, people who don't know me very well and ordinary friends call me by my official first name, and my loved ones call me by my second name.

I considered changing my name once but not necessarily to reflect my interests. Over here, it's difficult to get it done as well, and you have to spend a lot of money.

I've never seriously considered legally changing my first name, but all of my friends and most of my family call me "Gwen" because of my love of the character on Torchwood. At work though, I still have to go by my regular name unfortunately.

When it comes to my incredibly annoying and long last name, I have considered legally changing it, but my mom is very opposed to me doing that. My real name is long all together and I hate that.

Most of my friends have called me Trog since I was in my late teens - even my Mum does most of the time. Caving was a big obsession around that time. We had too many people with the same first name in the club, so inevitably, the scruffiest, beardiest one became the Troglodyte (it seems to be that all caving clubs have to have someone nick-named Trog). I always think it suits me better than my given name.

I wouldn't want the attention of changing it formally though - I'd be too embarrassed when they shouted my name at the doctor's or somewhere like that. I did know someone who's middle name was Toilet for a while. He was in one of our local anarcho-punk bands years ago, and changed it officially - no idea if he kept it later in life.

Forgot to mention: I once worked on a database back end system to check names against the OFAC (ie terrorist) list. In researching it, we learned that in many Arabic & Islamic cultures, at least among men, their names change throughout their lives to reflect milestones or major life events. That was my Western interpretation, anyway, if anyone knows better please correct me. Anyway, I've heard of other cultures that do something similar and I find it appealing in some way. Given the way in most Western cultures, women are already often expected to change their names, kids names change due to divorce of their parents, etc., so any tracking/storing of names should already be set up to allow for limitless name changes so apart from clerical costs people should feel free to change them on a whim!

Fascinating!

they add the pre-fix 'Al-Hajji' to their name once they have done the Hajj to Mecca.

I don't like my last name but I don't think I'll bother changing it. Family guy made a joke about my first name being the most unattractive male name in the English language lol! I don't think it's that bad :D

I've thought of changing my last name. I'm female and it's normal to change your last name at a certain point in your life due to marriage, but I don't expect to ever get married, and that feels like a weird reason to change your name anyway.

One of the reasons I haven't done it is because I don't know what to change it to. My interests don't really suggest anything.

My name doesn't bother me. The hard part is that I go by my middle name. Too many alive with my first name, so they called me by my middle name. Worked with some idiots for 17 years that still call me by my first name even after being corrected many, many times. And, then so many people act like that is a strange thing.

It's to explain, but I feel kind of violated when people refer to me by name. I guess I find my name personal - too personal to accept most people referring to me by it. I've been thinking about changing my name so people have to refer to me by false titles.

If you change your name, then it will be come legal. Then they will have to call you that. Just tell them to call you a nickname, something you want to be called and it's not your real name.

Not everyone will use the nickname though. Legally changing the name is a better option.
