Which country is best for people with ASD?

There are actually two ways to look at this. To those who rely on public assistance (which I don't and have no desire to), countries such as the United States, Canada, and EU countries might be the best. However, from the social perspective (which is more of my attention), these very countries seem to lagging far behind (at least according to a widespread opinion).

If by "social perspective" you mean what I think you mean (a society were ASD traits are well accepted), I suspect the better will also be the triad US-Canada-Europe - they are probably the countries in the world with:

- more tolerance for "deviant" behavior

- more job opportunities in areas like high-tech, academia or artistic/literary (probably the better jobs for aspies and auties)

- more importance to "rule of law", were society is based in well-defined, written and explicit rules (contrast with regions like East Asia, who give much importance to implicit rules, and where an aspie will probably make "social errors" all day)

Not france

I would assume individualistic socities would be a lot easier to accommodate to, whereas collectivist societies would be harder. Like it was stated above, Canada, US, and Europe.

At the same time, I've read that people in parts of Africa are more accepting of disabilities. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Mbuti tribe in Africa handles disability different, but in a somewhat positive way.

I live in Canada and not just any part of it I live in Cape Breton where everything is at least 50 years behind everywhere else, it's nothing but a big stupid hick town filled with drunks and hillbillies and they didn't diagnose me with Asperger's until I was in my twenties when what they really wanted to do was kick me out into the freezing cold and die homeless in a snowbank. And everyone I grew up with had to leave to find work but I couldn't I had to stay here where it is incredibly boring there is hardly anything for someone with special interests or talents like me the only good thing is that there are few crowds and I can walk alone in broad daylight without getting shot at BUT I AM BORED TO TEARS because I have nearly no life outside my apartment but I can't move away it would be too stressful and I've been forced to move so many times people are always saying what a great place Cape Breton is but most of those people their idea of a good time is going out and getting drunk I don't drink alcohol at all I hate it and I can't go anywhere even somewhat interesting like to a beach or a park because it's too far to walk and I can't drive I can't afford a car and the transit sucks the buses are way too far apart and you have to walk about half a mile to the nearest bus stop.

As someone going for an Asperger's diagnosis, I've wanted to move to northern England or Ireland for half my life, I always got the impression the people are very frank, and I'd get along with them better.

I'd have to say Canada, the US and some European countries.

I would strongly argue against US from this perspective. This county is dominated by active people who loves to work hard without rest, protestant ethics, and those who don't, are unofficially marginalized.

European countries are much more relaxed and tolerate, no matter if it's southern Italy or northern Finland.

And we should not forget about such an aspect as money - it's good if one with ASD has special interests that will grant him normal salary, but very big chances are that interests won't be transferable to any career - and so there is often need in some kind of welfare, which is much better in most of Europe (except Eastern or Balkans) than in the US.

I am not a supporter of socialism, but nevertheless for now it seems socialist countries like mentioned above Finland, or Scandinavia in general, should be the best for people with Aspergers, with combination of non-judging people around and social benefits.
