My eye contact is generally good, not too weak not too intense either. But, after I look away for a while, if I try too resume eye contact, I move my eyes back into the gaze of the person with such a speed and force that my eyes are really piercing. Thus, i prefer not to break eye contact at all. Can anyone relate?

yes, sometimes
i use to put my fingers on my eyes for about two seconds so i can interrupt eye contact.people sometimes tell me my eye contact is a bit "disturbing" so i just play with my hands looking at them and people think i am bored/careless/lazy even if i am listening :?

You could try counting as you move your eyes back, or using set points. Like if the person's eyes are "home base" you could go to "first base" first (the chair right next to you) then "second base" (the doorway in between you and the person) then "third base" (the plant next to their head) and finally "home" (their eyes).

My eye contact is worse when I talk,or if I'm talking about anything personal. If people are further away it's better or if I know someone really well it's better. It's very good if I'm shouting at someone if they've really upset me! Ha
