I ve been staying with my family and relatives for 10 days in a small flat. Nice people everyone there but I had problems with all the sounds and social commitments. Talking about nothing. I mean the conversation is very general not about specific topics. Made me tired, sad and sometimes in a bad mood.

I have no problems being with the same people if we meet lets say 2-4 people but more than is energydraining for me.

Anyone else who recognize this? And what to ”do” about it?

I can't even be with one person for that length of time.
I hide from my adult children in my own house.
We're all autistic and we all stay in our rooms, separate and sequestered.
Most of our conversations are electronic.
We don't eat together or watch TV.
It works for us to keep to ourselves.

If I have to be around others I don't manage well.
When I go to my mum's for Christmas dinner I end up lying on the floor.
Everyone else is at the dining table and I'm gasping for air, nonverbal.
Sometimes I'll make grunting sounds like a cavewoman.
I'm the life of the party.

People have given up trying to get me to act like a normal person.
I'm really glad.

You need solitude to rest and recharge.

What to do about it?
Become a hermit in the woods and grow turnips.

I owe you PM.
Sorry hon. I was really sick all day today (Tuesday - I haven't gone to bed yet.)

Yeah, I need huge amounts of alone time in order to be around people, and a lot of alone time to recover from being around people. If I were you, I'd be looking for ways to be alone and 'hit the internal reset button'. Not sure what works for you, but things like hiding in some headphones listening to music or taking walks can be helpful to me if I can't just go hide in a silent room alone...not sure if a silent room alone is possible for you right now. Yeah, I'd let my family know what was up and then get to practicing some self care. My two cents.

Hope you can get some time and space to get to doing what you need to do and feeling better sooner than later.
