I strongly believe that i have SAD which is called seasonal depressive disorder i think...every time of the year around autumn
i start getting very moody and emotional...instead of sleeping the 4 usual hours a day i now have to have 10 or i feel like crap...
i eat tons of sweets and caffine and only work out half the time i usually do....i have been trying to pull myself out of this slump over the last month and have been pushing myself to keep a daily routine and shower shave brush teeth, go outside, excercise and that kind of stuff on a daily basis....im not sure if anyone out there has similar symptons but if so i was just curious to see if those whom have this do anything special to get over these lethargic times

Hi Bizmark,

Yes!! ! I'm the same way. I don't know if I would qualify for a formal DX for SAD. But my behaviour/mood definately alters with the change of seasons. I think I might have been a bear in a previous life. Once fall comes, all I want to do is sleep 8+hours a day, eat eat eat, sleep, eat, sleep... I think you get the picture. I can't say I've managed to figure out how to curb these tendancies when they happen. I just ride them out until they pass. I see the pattern now, so I'm less alarmed when my behaviour does change.

I also feel more melancholic and depressed usually when summer fades away. But then I have a few NT friends who feel exactly the same. I wonder if it is not quite normal to feel a bit more moody this time of the year, so I wonder if we really need another syndrome for this.
