I think my mother has done this a little with me... I remember ShadesOfMe saying that her mother wrote on a form for her orthodontist that she had AS... and that she didn't understand why; it wasn't like she had aspergilius or whatever it's called.

So far, that hasn't happened.

they usually keep asking because I "seem" so normal. and because I have a new class every year, with new people, I have to explain everything again, and again, and again every year lol. But on the other hand it's an easy way for me to know what people think of me. since i can't feel it or anything, this is the only time I can really get a picture of what ppl like or dislike about me

I'm sure that people would do that if they knew I had AS. That's one reason I haven't told anyone.

Heh, my dad does that all the time. And he also keeps reminding me that I "can't use it as a crutch", even though he was the one who tried to get me to write my college essays about it so that admissions boards would feel sorry for me and be more likely to let me in. Seriously.

Other than that, though, no one really makes a big deal about it. Of course, that may be because I haven't really told very many people at all.

the wife knows, but the parents don't. I'm sure it will come out eventually.

This quote is pet peeve #149 for me (yes, I keep a list. no, don't ask me to give you the list because I will not):

"But you don't look sick" or "But you seem fine" or "Get away from me I don't wanna catch it!"

>> Oh my God. So. Annoying.

peoples that say that stuff about as are stupid.

anyway this has happened to me when i was dx'd my mother told a bunch of relatives that i don't see very often, her friends and the chiropractor that she sees and my dad sees but i don't see.

she even told my dentist about it and the fact i wasn't medicated for it and the dentist congratulated me on that. it never came up after that. i don't have to field q's very much.
