Mycene, Sparta, Paestum, Corinth, Tiryns, Perachora, Olympia, and the islands of Samos and Delos all bosted temples to Hera; however, Hera's main sanctuary was at Argos in the Peloponnesus, where she was worshipped as the town goddess.

Queen Rhodope and King Haemus in Thrace, were turned into mountains, the Rhodope and Balkan (Haemus Mons) mountain chain respectively, by Hera and Zeus, for their hubris in comparing themselves to the gods. Or so Ovid tells us in Metamorphoses 6.87.
