OMGz I'm old! :-P :-)

Well lets see... play World of Warcraft, Knit, do Puzzles/Memes, beadwork, draw on the computer, or post something. Ok ok so I also roast marshmallows over the stove elements on a fork.

I'm learning all the math I blew off in high school & college. 8) I'm going to die with a math book clutched in my arthritic hands.

I want to travel. I want to take a long cruise, cause I can be in my state room and enjoy my privacy when ever I care to away from everyone but then go up on deck and do what ever I want. . read, take the sea air, go to a movie, swim. Then I can go on the ports of call, Malacca, Singapore ( being careful not to spit out my chewing gum, I have SEEN those canes they beat you with!) Australia and New Zealand and all the wonderful Pacific Islands. Alaska and Mazatlan, and throught the Panama Canal and to Europe!! and Africa. . and Asia again. .
I would love to travel when I get old, and never wear lipstick or shoes or brassiers that pinch ever again!

yeah. that's what I want to do.

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick flowers in other people's gardens
And learn to spit.

You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickle for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.

But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.

But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.

I love that poem, it makes me laugh.

I do the stuff I did when we were younger but just pretend that I'm playing with the grandkids/younger relatives. Plus drinking.

I read one of the Discworld novels. Then I go and dig up my yard putting in little mountains and bogs. Then I lay on a hotpad and watch Lost.

I love that aluminum hand. Myself, I melt glass.

Think. Sometimes I go into mind numb mode, it can be fun too.

Polish my cane :P .

No, really, I read, hang out with the cat, spend some time with friends (limited), go out to the park when I feel up to it.

Re. cruises - the one I took was to Alaska, and it was absolutely amazing. If you like different places/cultures it's really cool. I took the very first one of the season, which was pretty chilly but much less crowded, and I think less expensive, than height of the season. If I could afford it, I'd travel a lot, live in Calif. & walk on deserted beaches!

Alas, I don't think I qualify as old at 32, but when I am older, I would hope I would still have my interest in music, and maybe be more calm in mind enough to be writing books or at least doing something useful.

What do old people do for fun?

Give younger people advice because all they have left is their knowledge and feelings of superiority.

I'm going to give everybody crap advice just for entertainment!

Spoil their pets ! !!

Awhile back TM and I decided to actually take a vacation. We took our lovebirds and bunny to her daughter's house so she could take care of them. After twenty minutes of instructions regarding their diet, and daily schedules, she looked at us and asked "Are you two nuts?" I realized at that moment that I'm old, because I completely spoil my pets.

And talk to them. And talk for them. And laugh hysterically at their hi-jinks.

oh, Prof, you and your TM are sensitive souls, too!
Lovebirds and a bunny! I am very attuned to my kitty's needs too in ways that might look strange to others, but he and I enjoy the mutual attention.
