And I will be pointing some of the girls to WP as a site where there are some very good and healthy discussions on being female with an ASD.
I gave Dr. Attwood a WrongPlanet.net tee shirt from the online store, here. Once I saw the man I realized the tee shirt was HUGE on him but he wore it bravely for the camera.
Later, in his talk after the lunch interval, he was in the middle of making a point about young Aspies getting 'out there' in the social scene and dashed back to his podium and unfurls the huge WrongPlanet.net tee (which was a perfect sized banner, enough to be seen 30 rows back) and waves it to the assembled. He quite enthusiastically recommended WP as an excellent place to mix and mingle and learn a thing or two.
I can't tell you what a strain that has put on my being a moderator,

always thinking of that young Aspie venturing onto WP and how it can be an optimum site to reach out to and trust. I get hounded for being so vigilant, too, and I wish I didn't care, but WP is such a wonderful resource it deserves a steady hand.
I suppose you know I was diagnosed later in life, too and had the good luck to discover WP about a week after I first knew. (Someone PMed me to tell me if I'd made my 11111th post within a two hour period would have landed on my 22,222 nd hour of being a member of WP. He had worked out that I had made a posting every half hour over the past 2.5 years on average! about a year ago they gave me a mop and bucket and bingo! I became a mod.)
I wrote my story for a book but it is taking forever to get reviewed. I testify for various bills of legislation for around the state. I am starting to stretch and grow in my new identity. If anyone ever needs anyone to talk about being a moderator on WP, I'm your gal!
