GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WZZM) -- The story of a West Michigan boy’s meeting with Santa is making thousands of people smile -- and shed a tear or two -- this Monday on Facebook.

Naomi Johnson’s son, Landon, and his cousins recently went to visit Santa at RiverTown Crossings Mall. Her son “said his piece” to Santa, but it’s a second encounter garnering reactions to the social media post.

“While aunt Brittany waited for pictures to print, he went back to Santa bc he wanted to tell him that he has Autism,” Johnson wrote on Facebook. “He was flapping his hands, all excited to let Santa know that he has autism.”

The post continues:

“Santa sat him next to him and took L’s hands in his and started rubbing them, calming them down. Santa asked L if it bothered him, having Autism? L said yes, sometimes. Then Santa told him it shouldn’t. It shouldn’t bother him to be who he is,” Johnson wrote....

Merry Christmas, kid. I guess Santa brought you what you needed most in the world.

Too bad it's extraordinary enough to be newsworthy.
