All,
Feel free to ignore, it is just a proposal;
I am 'brimming' with enthusiasm to start writing poetry again, and was considering to write a poem/haiku/Tanka inspired book of poems, but found a new passion that for some reason seems to scratch my ASD itches: Kōan's.
They are a few sentences long, and riddles/stories often cryptic and paradoxical. They do not require rhyme or rhythm nor to be solved. Only to push the readers to a possible 'satori' (sudden enlightenment).
famous example: ***"What is the sound of one hand clapping?"***
some of mine:(he typed blushing and delaying the "copy/paste")
***If I look at, I lose myself.
If I look away, I have no self.***
***One day, the mask spoke back:
“You are more real when you pretend.”***
***You are not a missing piece.
The pieces are missing you.***
My proposal:
I propose to have this post start perhaps our own little book of Kōans, I have a publisher friend and perhaps we can give back some 'merch' to WP this way
format:
Feel free to paste your Kōans here, the most interesting thing about Kōans is the thoughts they evoke(to me) so feel free to discuss, comment and feedback to the author in this forum.
Could I just ask that you start and end you Kōan with "***" 3 stars, this way I can more easily summarize them might there actually be a book(let) that forms here?
many thanks and kind regards,
Kada
