Well first of here's my vote

I've had this song in my head for about a month now, I don't even like it very much but I can't stop listening to it.

Can anything beat that for annoying catchynes?

I really, really hope the aliens kill them.

That is pretty catch though, I suppose the test will be if I listen to it a few times and then wait and see how long it takes me to get it out of my head.

I LOVE "annoyingly catchy songs", because that usually means that the music itself is great. Unfortunately, my internet connection is too slow for me to view mystery youtube videos. If you've got any examples that are strictly audio versions, post them.

To me, it's got to be "Der Kommissar" by After The Fire.

It's terrible. It's crappy 80's dance music. And I love it. So much that I bought the original 12" single with the extended dance version on one side and instrumental on the other.

Not my video, but the same record and turntable! YouTube audio quality absolutely stripped this record of it's beautiful, immaculate sound. :( I did a quality rip from my record if anyone wants to hear it how it's meant to be heard. I'm not sure if this version was ever released on anything else...

My three submissions are (and at one time or another I've had these going through my head. At the risk of being infected again and spreading it like a human mind to mind virus here they are.

Louie Louie (I don't even like it)

Vikings and Beekeeper, Vikings and beekeepers, Vikings and Beekeepers don't get along!" from Month Python's Flying Circus, to the tune of "Ride of the Valkyries"

Whoops there goes another rubber tree, whoops there goes another rubber tree, whoops there goes another rubber tree plant! Cause he's got high hopes, he's got high hopes, he's got high in the sky apple pie homes! (At least I kind of like this one).

Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" never fails to make me wish I had a gun close by.

dit dit deh deh dit dit deh deh dit dit dit dit dit ditideh...;)

I actually like it, but I can never remember the words...;)

I actually went to Instanbul (not Constantinople). Was walking through the Porte, past the harem, even found someone else whistling it...;)

My big peeve are 'rounds', like It's a small small world from Disneyland, and 'this is the song that never ends...'

usually what I do to 'clear my buffers and reboot' is to find a song with the same beat, chord progression, or key as the offender, and get that started.

I do have to admit I got 'birdhouse in your soul' stuck for a few weeks once....;)

ONLY IN KENYA
I like that one actually. And the crabs one. That one's awesome. XD

But FFFFFFFFFFF, I haaaate the song in Oliver and Co. where the girl and the cat are in the park and the girl's singing. I don't know WHY it gets so stuck in my head. And it's just such a lame song. But I'm probably the only one who has a problem with it. XD;;;

That song that was on Family Guy recently, 'The Bird is the Word'. I just hate it  People at work went through a phase of singing it all the time so I would cover my ears and run away.

A catchy song that I find funny is 'I'm on a boat' by The Lonely Planet. I get that stuck in my head every time it gets played.
