I'm having trouble coming up with suggestions for dates. Anyone have any recommendations?

Criterions
- Low volume but not silent
- A few calm people/not crowded
- Things to do if there's nothing to talk about or wanting a conversation break
- Nonchalant stimming opportunities
- Great conversations can be had if they come up

Ideae
- Painting ceramic objects
- Building/completing a puzzle and snacks
- A quiet volunteering event (if opportunity allows)

Not preferred
- Restaurant/eating
- Bar/club
- Movie
- Theme park/circus
- Competition (e.g. combat racquetball)
- Arcades

The plurals are for ToughDiamond

How well do you know the person you're dating? Is it an established relationship or blind dates? What kind of stimming opportunities are you looking for and how hard/easy are they to disguise as something else?

I had similar qualifications for date ideas when I was dating using the apps, but with the added criteria of that I didn't want it to cost them/me anything more than transportation and it needed to be a place I felt relatively safe in just in case something went south. I also wanted to make sure it had adequate parking and was relatively easy to find.

My go-to blind date ideas:
Visiting a local point of interest/hiking trail (ours is an old race track with old cars on display)
Visiting a garden/arboretum
Wandering around a mall (favorite blind date, he info-dumped about shoes for 3 hours, I loved it)

For dates with my boyfriend I don't have to worry about the cost (though we usually fight over who gets to pay haha) and I don't have to worry about safety. Because I know and I trust him. He also knows my interests as well as my limitations and will suggest places he thinks are neat and that won't overwhelm or overstimulate me.

Dates I've been on that met your criteria:
Old manor houses
Castles/Fortifications
Monument park
Museums
Fossil hunting beach
Aquarium (off-peak)
Zoo/Animal park (off-peak)

^ They would be for dates with women I don't really know, so recently met or similar.

The mall might be too overstimulating/noisy for me, but that's a funny about the shoes. I had a friend in the early 2010s give me an infodump on why Airwalks from the 90s where the bomb because of something in the material of the cushion.

I like these ideas!

Beaches, castles or other exciting places?

I don't know where you live, but all the malls near me are very sad and dead. It's terrible for businesses, but it makes it a lot more comfortable for me to go there even though some of the shops are still overwhelming. The low traffic volume, plus the mall security, plus easily accessible bathrooms, plus plenty of good parking made it a perfect date place. Especially if I found out my date had a special interest like the shoe guy. I definitely would not have picked it if our malls weren't so sad, though.

Too bad I lost contact with shoe guy. He would have loved an infodump on Airwalks.
