I think that having a ring finger longer than your index finger is typical for hetero males, and more atypical for females (i.e. often supposedly indicator of more testosterone, which may=Possible inclination towards having a PDD, lesbianism, or some other stuff...I forget..(possibly left-handedness).....Please correct me if I am wrong......the digit ratio thing is confusing to me.

Anywhoo..
I am a (somewhat androgynous) hetero female, left handed, and both my ring fingers are longer than my index finger, though it is more pronounced on my right hand, where the ring finger is almost as long as the middle finger.

My good friend who is very ASish and a hetero bi-gendered male has index fingers longer than his ring fingers, but only slightly, and it is hard to tell really because he has very bendy fingers.

My partner Flakey has ring and index fingers that are pretty much the same length. He has some AS traits but is not a full-blown Aspie....he is "hetero" but not a very "macho man"..gets along better with girls, has a gentle nature and a kinda squeaky voice.

I think this fingers stuff is an urban myth based on poor scientific study. Most guys have a longer ring finger , does that make them gay or autistics?

According to studies it is normal for a man to have a longer ring finger. For a man to have a more feminised hand (i.e. with a longer index finger) tends to indicate homo- or transexuality or tendencies thereof due to low levels of testosterone at birth and during growth.

If a woman has a higher than normal level of testosterone, this not only seems to cause homo- or transexuality or tendencies thereof, but also a longer ring finger than usually found in females.

I hope this explains it a little better.

Mine's only in the 8% still.... :?

I've heard that palmistry has been recognized for having a scientific basis.

Not sure how, maybe I'll look it up. :nerdy:

There have been many studies in digit ratio correlations. I *suppose* they could all be wrong, but I think as far as refuting them goes the ball's in your court.

We did this test in biology class in college.

My index fingers and ring fingers are pretty much the same length on both hands.

I read that hyper-masculinized fingers on males indicated higher homosexuality.

As for me, not much success with the ladies, but not interested in going for the guys.

Ring fingers are longer than index (the ratio is 0.94 for both).

Heterosexual and autistic. I do go through stages where I'm seemingly asexual (no desire and interest in such); actually, I've been in said asexual stage far more than the heterosexual stage in retrospect.

I go first.
Female, index finger shorter than ring finger.

Results will be explained soon.

O.K. what about some results now?

My index is 10mm shorter than my ring finger on my right hand, on my left hand the index is 7mm shorter, but both fingers on my left hand are 5mm longer respectively than its counterpart on the right hand.
