Be careful about the cologne. It is often overdone and can actually be a little obnoxious. Just a good clean smell from a bath/shower is fine and an otherwise scent free antiperspirant or unscented deodorant is fine.

Really, those Axe commercials where the guy gets all the girls because he uses those smelly products - they're a bunch of nonsense.

Women do not need to try to be attractive to do so is to only conform to the sexist idea that men have created that all women should doll up and look pretty you should look good for you and no one else.

One thing I've learned by observing other people is that you should not make this decision for others, people have good points and bad points, it's the total package that matters.

You may be denying some guy a chance at true happiness instead of doing him a favor with this policy...

Speaking as someone with Bipolar, when I say things like this it's about me and not a potential partner. The mood swings can really f**k with your head... to the point where you have no idea what you want. One minute you want someone, the next you want to run as far and fast as you can.

^ exactly. It's impossible for me to determine my own feelings towards someone romantically (I'm not sure why, but friendship-wise I am safe). Either I am a danger to any guy who develops an attraction to me - basically thinking I'm in love with them one day, then hating them the next - I refuse to hurt someone like that, or they are a danger to ME - I am vulnerable to being trapped in an abusive relationship where a guy could take advantage of my inability to know my own feelings, by convincing me that only THEY know what I truly feel towards them so I am unable to escape the relationship (actually, this just happened to me). Considering putting myself on the market would do nobody any favours. I'm dangerous to others and others are dangerous to me.

You tell me where I can find someone who can tell me whether it's obnoxious or not and I'm there.

The reason I wear it is that I can often smell stale and sweaty after a couple of hours without it, even though I soap and bath every day.

If you insist on wearing a cologne - a good rule of thumb is to put a little (emphasis on LITTLE) of the cologne on your pulse points (think wrists or just behind your ears). Wait a minute or two. Walk around your room/apartment a little. Go outside on your balconey or just outside your front door. Inahle deeply through your nose. If you can smell it - it is too much and will be obnoxious to others. If you cannot smell it on yourself, then it will be just a subtle scent which might be enjoyed by those who like a little cologne on someone.

It's obnoxious. There's nothing worse than a man who stinks of cologne - biggest turn off ever. Those ads are absolute nonsense. HOWEVER I agree with CanadianRose that if you use the tiniest touch of it, so the scent is just perceptible to others and you probably can't even smell it yourself, then this can be nice.

A big rule of thumb is to never, ever, use cologne to cover bad body odor. The two combine and the smell is atrocious. If you worry about body odor, then the first plan of action is to shower and clean yourself thoroughly whenever possible. Only ever use cologne if you are not sweaty and do not have body odor.

Never said they couldn't be but that doesn't have much to do with sexism sexism and racism are to different things.
