Ok, so I've been called a quitter and coward by two different people in this thread. I'd say those are characteristics of someone you would label a loser. Am I wrong?

The most important thing is that a loser cant change.
If you are a loser you can buy nice clothes and you´d be a loser in disguise but that wont make you less of a loser.

You can work in yourself and are therefore disqualified to become a loser so the applicable term is quitter.

imo losers are born as losers and being a loser isnt defined by some aspects of your life that didnt turn out as you´d have liked them to.

I don't agree with you. I don't think anyone is born a loser. I doubt there's a loser gene. How do you define loser anyway? Someone who can't win, no matter what? IS there a person born like that? Of course people can change.

You are more than free to have a different opinion as long as you arent attacking others for having their own.

If you have a look at Fnord´s list you´d see that some of this characteristics loser males have have been that way since birth. These are things that could be improved if the OP choose to but he doesnt seem interested on that at the moment.

Fnord's list is Fnord's opinion. And who's to say whether those characteristics are inborn, or acquired, and how the person will be effected by them?

And implying you were being attacked is way beyond asinine. Seriously.

Well you aren't succeeding at anything whining on here. Both are a "waste of energy" but at least with that waste of energy there is a higher chance of success.

Yeah, I guess.

Though venting and "complaining" about my feelings every so often on here helps me get rid of excess frustration, stress, and anger.

It's like an outlet, I can't this stuff bottled up.

Fine, you are a loser. You don't even try to be otherwise. We try to help but you shoot down everything with some stupid excuse. So stop complaining, you have no right to when you refuse to change or actually even try to help yourself.

Venting is fine. It belongs in the haven. Complaining is not. It belongs nowhere.

Guy, there are people who have it waaay worse than you. What the hell makes you think you, with your first-world problems, deserve sympathy or respect when you do nothing to change your situation?

I'm not using excuses, they are real, legit reasons. And I won't stop venting or "complaining" just because you say so.

I know there are people in the world that have it worse than me, however it doesn't make me feel better about my situation. (not to dismiss anyone else's struggles or anything)

Thank you for being honest and calling me a loser though, I agree with that.

That is healthy, yes. My next question was going to ask you why you posted here, but you just answered it. Do you prefer this outlet because people see what you've got to say, or does that not matter? The best thing you can probably do is vent here, and at the same time, when you feel a little better is have a think about what some of the people here have said.

You have to be careful though, because doing the same thing over and over again tires people of their sympathy. It's simply a human condition. For this reason I'm wondering if you will find benefit in writing a private blog sometimes? If t doesn't help, don't worry about it. Just a suggestion.

It's a shame that you come from a family that isn't very supportive, if I lived there I would do a few simple things to help like wash your clothes and go with you to find work etc.

I think we'd be happier with fewer "Sucks to be me" posts and threads outside of The Haven.

I got my first ever PC in early 2008 and access to the internet regularly for the first time in my life. A few months later I found this site on a Wikipedia page researching aspergers. I lurked here for a few years until I felt comfortable enough to join and talk about my problems late last year. It was the first time in my life I was able to discuss my life and how I feel in general with people.

The reason I prefer this site is because I'm comfortable here I guess, and the other forums I visit regularly (sports, gaming, anime, etc) aren't really suitable places.

As to the other part of your post, my relatives couldn't help if they wanted to. They're more or less like me and can barely take care of themselves. Most of them are drug-addicted, poor/welfare dependent, uneducated, and mentally ill bums that society deems as lowlife losers.

Please read my post. I really do think this is the root of your problem. I have been in a mental position similar to yours before.

So why's it even matter if you're a loser? If you are a loser, what does it change?

Not at all.

I bet there's some element of projection there.

You are what you believe or perceive yourself to be, if you blame everything on your circumstances and never realize that you're in control of your fate and outlook, you're losing out on life.

Idk I guess it feels good when you have your opinion of yourself validated so many different people.
