I need to. Non gamers and even gamers comment on the fact if I'm into a game I will literally play it non stop til I'm bored. They feel neglected for the 1-2 weeks this happens. My obsession passes then things return to normal until the next...

I would. I play a variety of video games and it would be nice to share similar interests.

I used to play a lot of video games but not so much anymore. All my previous girlfriends hated me playing games.

I wouldn't date a guy who plays video games, because I wouldn't date a guy.

I love video games myself. I get a little addicted, but always find time for my own responsibilities. As long as he sets aside time to take care of any responsibilities he chose*, and time to spend together, he can play video games as long as he wants.

*If he can work, try to find and keep work. But if he cannot work, file paperwork for disability income.
*If he has pets, take care of healthcare, grooming, feeding, physical and mental simulation, training. If he cannot do all of that, rehome the pets.
*If he has a lot of "stuff", clean it regularly. If he cannot, get rid of enough of the stuff in order to manage it.

I don't think I would date a girl who's a hardcore gamer/not doing anything else or have other hobbies. but obv I wouldn't just not date her because she plays computer games from time to time.... I don't think playing video games casually is such a bad thing, personally I don't play video games although I used to play a lot in high school so I understand the appeal of them

Besides even chess and card games are games so what? they can be played on the PC what's the difference between age of empires and chess? IDK what games girls play though, Sims, I guess? duuno.

^ Some people freak out if you play video games for two hours, but will watch TV for seven hours a day.

It's dumb.

I would have, though it would seem in my relationship I am the one who plays video games mainly League of Legends and Skyrim, I also started Dragon Age Inquisition but I've stopped for now until I can get an Xbox one X as I think it will look and run better on there than on my PS3(it freezes up sometimes and makes the fan run loudly). Seems my boyfriends favorite 'video game' is pokemon go.

Haha yeah I agree... it depends on how one is affected by these video games/over consumption of TV shows/games. I knew somebody who's life was literally revolving around video games (4-5 hours a day). He was childish and a sociopath and he could only talk about games etc. Those a**hole types do exist, but then again not everybody who plays video games is like that... personally I choose my partners based on common ground : hobbies, interests, values, social class, culture, etc. Since video games aren't a huge part of my life if hers' is she would have to have other interests/hobbies as well similar to mine for us to find common ground.

This is the worst! At least video games require effort unlike watching TV for seven or more hours. I like games that require planning like Heroes of Might and Magic and games that require paying attention to timing like Hatsune Miku games. That takes way more effort than having a fit if you miss one episode of a reality TV show, God forbid.

Don’t forget they spend all Sunday and other days watching a single sports event.
Prepping for it, watching it discussing it for weeks.
Every Sunday and Monday I guess. And it never ends cause there’s so many, baseball, basketball, football, soccer. They have a whole years worth .
But me spending all my free time playing games is bad.

I not only dated one, I married one. :D We both like games, albeit our tastes are somewhat different.

I'm 34, grew up playing NES, SNES, and PC games with my older brother.

We're the same age and got dx'd the same year. I don't know if that's something to celebrate with a high-five though, I feel like it's f****d up quite a bit of my life (but, I'll spare everyone from that whining for now).

I'd think twice about any adult who plays video games, except very occasionally - even more so if the games in question involve hurting people.

It's always wise to start by dismissing a large percentage of potential candidates over something trivial before even starting to accept applications for the position. I believe this is an ideal way to ensure a large body of potential suitable applicants.
Best of luck, good sir. Image
