NOT. TRUE.
I get stared at ALL THE TIME for acting 'strange' or 'odd' or 'different' or 'crazy.' In fact, people stare at me MORE than they stare at "pretty young ladies," at least where I go. But maybe they don't want to openly stare at them--I mean, I doubt they would. They actually want to IMPRESS them--but why would they want to impress me? I'm the crazy ugly person with the Transformers and the hair streak who's touching his friends' shoes and hair! And the crazy part is, I'm not even trying to attract attention--I don't even KNOW I'm attracting attention--until I see the stares, or the laughs, or the people looking at me with their wide eyes, going--
"Wh-who ARE you?"
(it's almost theatrical. Unfortunately, I'm "worse" in overstimulating, crowded places)
I agree with ParaSait; if they don't look at you, you're inconspicuous. But that doesn't necessarily mean it's on an "attractiveness" scale. Sometimes people just don't look at you because you're not acting like an idiot. Or whatever they think I'm acting like. I'm just acting like...me. And most people don't LIKE to be stared at, and the Neurotypicals know that. If they wanted someone to like them, they'd be secret about staring, wouldn't they?
