So a woman at work has told me a few times that I need to get a cell phone, she's usually really friendly but I tend to get more attention than most. I feel like this comment 'you need to get a cell phone' is a hint that it's not just for my interests why she feels I should get one.

This is the sort of hint that at one time would have sailed right over my head but if I'm correct, I'd like to see where it leads. :nerdy:

um, congrats!

i am no stranger to comments soaring miles above my head. not completely sure what she means to be honest, either...but nowadays i'd guess that as well.

what kind of work environment is this?

That’s nothing; it’s just a wishful thinking.

You wouldn’t second guess if she’s really interested.

And yes, you should get a cellphone.

Why would she be asking about something that doesn't affect her at all? Could it be because she wants it to be easier to contact you? :D

I'm guessing you already have some sort of work relationship with her. Just straight up ask her if she wants to go out to dinner.

NO! Don't be fool and don't rush, especially with a coworker.

One "hint" aka one question is NOT enough to assume interest.

Wait for more obvious signs, viewtopic.php?t=387442 you will know 100% if she's interested.

I dunno, not too many people go out of their way to find me in a factory that takes 20 minutes to walk from one end to the other.

Also, who's second guessing? This is bragging.
I'm tired of only hearing complaints from guys in a similar boat as mine (fat, awkward, depressed, making minimum wage) that things are impossible. Maybe things won't click 2047 times in a row, but on the 2048th time maybe you'll get lucky.

Dinner? I usually click with people whom a 'wanna join me for a blunt' would be more appropriate and I intend on it.

We have different employers even though we work at the same place, so that takes care of at least some concerns with HR. Generally since each company's HR protects their own if there's conflict someone just gets moved to Plant 2 where you will literally never see each other again and it would take 30 minutes to walk between them so there's no point in the day where it would even be feasible.

I am not saying it's impossible, nor I am saying she's not interested.

All what I am saying is to play it safer and smarter.

She seems to want things to move slowly, she's mentioned an abusive ex and showed pictures. I don't blame her, it was bad.

Unless there's other guys she shows those pics to, that's probably sign #2.

Be careful.

This is very obvious to me, but I'll put it here anyway: If/When someone goes to you something like, "Want to swap numbers?" and you say "I don't have a phone" it looks like you're rejecting them.

Get a phone.

Don't know your location or the legality of blunts there. Are you sure she doesn't just want a supplier ?
