Meet up 1pm in the Natural History Museum basement

bring a packed lunch to eat there or if the weather is nice we can picnic in hyde park.

(the basement entrance is near to the spider)
note my mobile does not work in the basement so ask a member of staff how to get down there.
i'll try and go if i can! i was there last saturday (well actually i was next door at the v&a, i wanted to see the baroque exhibition but got there too late for it to be worth it so just looked around the rest of the museum instead)
they have been doing engineering work on every saturday i've been in london, especially on the jubilee and circle and district lines. it's worth checking the night before what's running and what isn't.
Tube directions from Paddington train station:
- go 5 stops on the Circle / District line (yellow / green) to South Kensington (any train sign-posted to Ealing Upminster - check that the first station after Paddington is Bayswater - else you'll travel the long way round).
this isn't quite right. on the district line you have to change at earl's court and get another district line train back towards south kensington. that's easier said than done, as earl's court station is something of a museum piece itself from the days when the underground ran on steam, and it's hard to tell from the old-fashioned train describers exactly where the trains are going to go!
Yeah I remember John saying that he had made a mistake on one of the directions, but I didnt remember which one.
If you tell me exactly what to put, I will change it.
I hope you can come DivaD as it would be fantastic to see you again!

i just looked on the TfL website and their current plan for engineering works means no circle or district line at south kensington, and no jubilee line. you can still get to south kensington on the piccadilly line. but this would mean that none of john's routes will work. TfL often change their plans the week before though, so it's not going to be worth spending effort planning routes until nearer the time.

the weather forecast predicts heavy rain for saturday so bring a coat and umbrella.
so we wont be picnicking in hyde park
we will be sat indoors enjoying chatting with lovely company!
