Is there a social skills (or soft skills, or nonverbal language, or social cues, etc.) curriculum, study program, tutorial, course, or similar thing that is based on the pedagogy of learning verbal language or literacy? For example, this could involve studying body language by reading books, memorizing rules, doing specific exercises (See John! See John shrug! Shrug, John, shrug, and make eye contact for between 5 and 10 seconds while pointing feet at a 15 degree angle and maintaining a smile conforming to the rubric on Page 35 in the textbook!, etc.) and passing tests. In other words, I am talking about learning social skills as if it was a foreign language like German or as if it was like learning how to read and write in my native language.

My reason for asking is that verbal language, especially prose reading comprehension, is one of my strongest areas and that perhaps I could pull in some of those strengths that helped me master the written word.
