I see that.

I have a hard time picking out mid-range noise levels, usualy heard in conversations. I'm not very good at conversations either so as you can imagine, this doesn't help at all.

I can hear the smallest noise, some days more than others, and some parts of the day more than others. I hear the air conditioning coming on and off, I've heard someone's cell phone vibrating in my office building and they were about 75 feet away from where I was sitting. I hear the refrigerator, creaks in the house, but I can't make out conversational-level noise. So fun.

Mid-range conversations? I find that surprising because it would be easier to block out extremely soft or loud noise.

It's all because of one thing, pitch.

That just goes to show you that some people are different.
