The uniform is a socially learned idea that happens to have utility. A better example would be putting up a verbal fight if a cop asked you to turn off your camera and back away. There is a social expectation to listen even if you think it disagrees with your legal right.

When the OP was trying to revoke other students' unearned grades, that would be seen as a very cold-hearted and unemphatic thing to do. If you were in their position, would you want someone to tell on you? (that is emphatic thinking). That's the kind of AS thing that greatly upsets NT people, even though it makes perfect logical sense.

^ Yes. And I've been studying "empathy" as it applies to sociology/psychology/autism. Empathy has to do with theory of mind. Sympathy is probably used more universally by people to be kind to one another, whether or not we can imagine ourselves in their position.

Interesting. I arrived at my understanding of AS, as well as the realization that I had it, largely by studying psychology/sociology/anthropology.

1. The world is what WE make it.
2. Most established "norms" in the world are actually fairly destructive, illogical and seldom benefit anyone.
3. Never let anyone tell you how the world "is". It's only their perspective, and most people who feel the need to push it... Don't have a great perspective. At all.
4. Those who accept the world as it is will never actually enact any positive change. They've already rolled over, but you should work to make the world a better place.
5. Be kind to the people who feel the need to tell you these sorts of things. They are obviously in much inner pain and probably could benefit from a hug.
