Yes, I think out loud. Especially when I'm scared and I have to come up with options or a plan or something.

Yes I do, I find that if I imagine myself explaining my thoughts to another person I am much better able to recall them a later date and it also forces me to flesh out my ideas more fully.

I try not to do it public but sometimes forget and this causes considerable embarrassment when people assume I'm talking to them or see me doing it when I am unaware of their presence.

I'm beginning to think f**k it, let em stare....

Yes I do it all the time in private, public only happens when I'm alone if I'm with people I'm too uncomfortable and on the defensive, it happen to me when I walk down the street and I start thinking about my stuff, is like stepping into the "zone" where you forget you're in public and just think about what you have in your head, and you start talking with yourself without being aware of it, I always wear helmets phone, so at least if it happens I hope it look like I'm on the phone. :D

Yes, I do that, too. But I try to keep those conversations in my head and not to speak loud. Nevertheless it can be that I just nod or shake my head in response to anything of the conversation in my head or do some gestures instead of speaking out loud.

More often, though, I think I have said something that I didn't say. My husband says my thoughts must be so loud in my own head I think I am making a physical sound and communicating them to others.

I also know that. It can be that I refer to something I thought I have already told a person, but the person then says I never said that.

The "zone"! Best description I've ever seen to describe it. Like, "Okay. Not talking to people for awhile. Let's get buried in my thoughts". That's EXACTLY when it starts. :-P

Yes, I think out loud a lot. It helps me organize my thoughts. Lots of people do, for that reason. I don't hold conversations with imaginary people, or people who aren't there, so no, I am not a candidate for the rubber room in a padded hotel.

Yes, I frequently do this. I have long conversations with myself, sometimes in foreign languages.

Yes, bigtime!! !! This is a huge thing I do. And yes it's totally "thinking out loud" for me. My thoughts are clearer when I can speak them "to the four walls." Similar to how it's helpful to write things out.

But yes, for me too it's worse when I'm particularly stressed and anxious.

I do it when I'm relatively fine as well, it's just that I don't seem to need it as much when I'm okay, but I really seem to need it when things feel stressful or I'm sad or angry.

And yes, rehearsing what I need to say, or conversely, going over and re-doing what I WISH I had said if, if it's after an interaction that didn't go well in my view.

Not usually around other people, but...

Not only do I think aloud, I have entire characters with distinct voices and accents who frequently go off on bizarre monologues and have repetitive catchphrases. Some of them talk to each other - mostly, nonsensical, silly childish prattle. I think its some sort of subconscious mechanism for coping with the loneliness of isolation.

Lol I know this guy who does have autism and he pretty much thinks out loud all of the time. Like i'm in this one class with him and this one girl (who is very vocal about what's bothering her) tells him to shut up all the time. I mean he's a nice guy thank goodness. If he were mean-natured, then we'd have a problem. But yea this guy pretty much says what's on his mind all the time and it's clearly evident that he's "special"

I'm not mean to him or anything. I'm not mean spirited and probably never will be. But I can see why he would get on some peoples nerves who arne't as easy-going as I am. I'm the kind of guy who can tolerate a lot of things and I will always respect you unless you disrespect me or others. I'm not quick to judge.

I used to think out loud a lot more when I was younger. Now, I am very conscious of when I do and try very hard not to. Most of the time, I don't want my inner thoughts known by the whole world. I've actually become more quiet in the last few years. Almost too much so b/c it is getting harder to talk again.

I do think out loud, but randomly shift between that and not out loud.

Yes. Then people ask what and I say I'm just talking to myself. Sometimes they ask what I said most of the time I say it's none of their business.
