So I am working with this program which helps to provide support to students with disabilities in the STEM fields. So far they have provided amazing support in academically. So I suggested the posibility of getting a social mentor so they're gonna arrange me with one. Has anyone ever done this before?

I think the idea of having some sorta social coach is a good idea. For me, I need more hands-on application more then anything else. Yeah I spent years chatting with psychs about social theory, suggestions, tips and stuff but that does not actually get me too far. My social skills are rather imbalanced. I have more problems with timing, greetings and small talk then actually having a conversation. In fact I can converse better then some NTs. It throws people off cause for majority of the pop, saying hi and making small talk is way easier then actually conversing.

Anyways, so has anybody ever done this before?
