Sensory overload with Doctors
Not exactly, but I usually feel so uncomfortable that I can hardly wait to leave, so for that and other reasons I rarely get what I want from them. I suppose it's the mild end of overload. The experience in the waiting room usually exhausts me and drains my spirit before the actual interview starts. Afterwards I think of things I wish I'd said that might have got me somewhere. I need to feel relaxed and I need time before I can figure out what to say, and they often take me by surprise. The whole experience is so unpleasant that I don't go to see doctors unless it's about something really serious, even though it's free in the UK. The idea of actually paying for it in the USA puts me off even more.
