I can get along with my mum. She is as (undiagnosed) and she is not in denial. Colleauges with asperger might have helped a bit.
I always said and still say she gives me practical love, because she is very practical and (luckily) not the emotional hugging type.

My mum dislikes me immensely. I have little respect for her, and she knows it.

Not really, for a bunch of reasons. The two most important being that my mother was 18 when she got pregnant with me for stupid reasons (trying to get my reluctant bio father to commit to her; it didn't work and the whole having a baby thing was sorely disappointing); and second, that she has borderline personality disorder and spent most of her life unmedicated/aggravated by alcohol and drugs, so it is pretty impossible to get along with someone like that. She is medicated now and we get along ok, but nowhere near what most people seem to have with their parents. I don't think they make medication that can deal with her narcisistic personality 100%.

I've generally gotten along with my mother rather well, but for some reason I've never really interacted with her a lot or as much as people generally do with their mothers. We rarely argued, but we rarely chatted either. Our interactions were usually just about practical things.

Ha-ha. What a question! Never have two people been so totally opposite. I am much, MUCH more like my father and his side of the family and nothing at all like my mother. Do we get along? NO!

Used to be very close until 13 when my stepfather came. Then she became as abusive as that awful man and I lost trust in her. Now we mull along.

sometimes, but a lot of times she doesn't because she doesn't understand what it's like with AS (question is "NT" short for someone who doesn't have AS/autism? What does it stand for?)
