I wish people would stop demonizing vaping...

How does "vaping" work exactly?
Instead of smoking tobacco leaves rolled up into a cylinder of paper, you ...put something into an electric device that vaporizes the something into vapor that you inhale like steam.
Isnt the stuff you feed into a vaping device also made from tobacco? And isnt that stuff made by the same tobacco companies that sell cigarettes?

Yes e-liquid's nicotine is made from tobacco, but the advantage is that all the really dangerous stuff is purified out, if it's done right. And rather than inhaling the smoke from burning leaves via incomplete combustion (which contains tar and tons of other nasty chemicals), you're just heating the nicotine into a vapour, so the whole thing is running a lot cooler. It's not really the nicotine in cigarettes that kills, it's all the other crap in the unpurified tobacco smoke. The nicotine merely serves to physically addict people to smoking cigarettes if they don't switch to a safer nicotine delivery system.
Some tobacco companies have diversified into vaping products, and I don't know why they're not content to just go with the flow and get their profit that way. Maybe they think shutting down perfectly good cigarette factories before they fall to bits will lose them a lot of money. Or maybe the demonization of vaping is coming more from governments who don't want to lose their tax revenue. But the tax on tobacco in the UK is colossal, yet the UK gov isn't so violently opposed to vaping as some American state governors are. I've seen posters they put up that say "Vaping is smoking." No it bloody isn't.

There has been an outbreak of lung injuries and deaths associated with vaping. The CDC has identified vitamin E acetate as a chemical of concern among people with e-cigarette/vaping associated lung injury (EVALI). Vitamin E acetate is a thickening agent often used in THC vaping products, and it was found in all lung fluid samples of EVALI patients examined by the CDC.Nicotine is the primary agent in both regular cigarettes and e-cigarettes, and it is highly addictive. It causes you to crave a smoke and suffer withdrawal symptoms if you ignore the craving. Nicotine is also a toxic substance. It raises your blood pressure and spikes your adrenaline, which increases your heart rate and the likelihood of having a heart attack.
Although they’ve been marketed as an aid to help you quit smoking, e-cigarettes have not received Food and Drug Administration approval as smoking cessation devices.

I guess the safest nicotine delivery system are the pouches that are now very popular. All they contain are nicotine salt and flavoring, similar to Swedish snus that has been manufactured in that country since the early 1800s. Snus, of course, contains tobacco where the the nicotine pouches don't.

I'm not sure it's that simple. True, the Web is crammed with articles saying that nicotine raises the blood pressure, and I'm sure many doctors would say the same thing. But the notion has also been questioned.
As I didn't feel able to distinguish the truth from the propaganda, a few years ago when I'd moved over to vaping, I thought I'd try to find out for myself. Using two different monitors - one a simple over-the-counter type, the other a "proper" hospital monitor (their readings agreed very closely) - I measured my blood pressure several times over the course of maybe half an hour, to get a baseline. Then I vaped a lot of high-strength nicotine, the very stuff I was routinely using to keep off the tobacco, only I vaped more of it than normal, and continued taking readings for a further half hour or so. No increase in blood pressure was found. I repeated the test a couple of times. Same result.
I'm not saying everybody would get the same result, but it convinced me that in my case I probably had little to worry about from a blood pressure point of view.
I believe that the black market vape and the products were responsible for most lung injuries and deaths.
