Mario is an animal abuser.

It's wonderful to be able to have an autobiographical memory like that, but the only downside is that it explains why I hang on to bad memories too and why it takes longer for me to get over things.

It's EXACTLY the way it is for me as well. Once I was talking to some reiki master with paranormal powers about young children remembering their previous lives - I personally don't remember any but this one is remembered by me all along - someone was carrying me above a baby crib 8O I also remember myself not being even one year old and being on the train with my mother. I also remember how as a child one month shy of my third birthday, I made our christmas tree fall - half the glass balls got broken then. I have generally like 80-90 memories from the third year of life - later I could already remember everything exquisitely well :)

What? Me neither. How come it's illegal to sell to children?

Today I found out (from the "Seven Stones to Stand and Fall" collection of stories from the "Outlander" universe by Diana Gabaldon) about the existence of the "eau de nil" color.

That Facebook video reels that are longer than like a minute or two have unavoidable ads now. I was wondering when this was going to start happening.

Just saying, I think that attachment size - including video - on Mastodon is 99MB by default. This allows several minutes of video. No ads.
I virtually never post anything on Facebook.

I have a very dormant account there I use about once every month or two, just to look at event postings for organizations too poor to have their own website (or run by non-technical volunteers). They unfortunately have a Facebook Page only.

Pet dogs and cats have to be microchipped in the UK - it's da law. I didn't know that before.

Some things about the Rasos Cemetery. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rasos_Cemetery I needed those to write a legend (made up by me, of course) for some writing contest because I want to win a tablet :)

Have you been influenced by PETA, who can't tell the difference between a fantasy video game and real life and are hypocritically stealing and killing pets and service animals?

I agree about Mario being an animal abuser. He leaves poor Yoshi behind to fall off a cliff at the end of each level.

No, just by Mario punching Yoshi in the head to make him stick out his tongue. I only played SMW recently so I didn't know about that until now.

As for PETA, while I don't agree with them I don't think it's as simple as hypocrisy. They believe pet ownership infringes on an animal's agency, and they're not entirely wrong even if killing animals to avoid their agency being infringed upon is a bit extreme.

It's logically consistent, even if it's extreme, which means 'hypocrisy' isn't the strongest criticism. It's just an inherently extreme position to hold.
