Today I learned that life is what you make it. I've decided to have a positive attitude even though I'm dirt poor due to unwise spending.

My neighbour doesn't drink tea

I don't know if I can ever talk to her again in light of this

I don't drink tea either, because I don't like it.

I don't drink tea either. Also, no coffee.

I like them both but the amount of caffeine makes my heart beat funny. Also, if I drink tea, I end up having to go pee about ever fifteen minutes for a few hours.

I can drink decaffinated tea and coffee, but they don't taste very well.

I find people that drink tea all the time (which is like 99% of people I know) hiccup and burp a lot and often complain of heartburn. I mean I know you could argue that soda causes all that too but I think tea and maybe other hot drinks can cause GERD symptoms long term, while soda is just momentarily. But I'm no doctor, it's just speculation.

I think you may be right, at least for some people who drink both and experience less issues with wind or heartburn from soda and more of those types of issues with hot drinks.

I think it may be to do with the hot temperature of the drinks that some people cannot handle. Like you say, hot drinks can cause GERD symptoms.

What usually got me for gerd was spicy and greasy foods.

For example, thirty five years ago, I lived near an all you could eat Mexican restaurant called Pancho's Mexican Buffet (or something like that). I liked the food and the prices, but I always has gerd when I went to bed after eating there.

Yeah, see I've never been a fan of hot drinks. The only hot drink I have is a lemsip when I have a cold or a period, and even then I put a bit of cold water into the cup first before pouring hot water so that it's not too hot when I go to sip it, and I don't have the patience to wait for it to cool down.

I don't suffer from wind or heartburn, I never have done. I suffer with my sinuses. And periods. Hence the lemsip.

I've never tried it, but I have heard of people drinking Hot Dr Pepper.

For what it's worth, I drink room temperature soft drinks. On the rare occasion that they are too warm, I will put a little ice in them.

The world is using around 104 million barrels of oil per day right now. I was watching a film called 'A Crude Awakening' a few hours ago, made in 2006, when consumption was 85 million barrels per day: in this film an oil expert was predicting that consumption would have dropped to around 60 million barrels per day by 2016.
