I found a new psychologist (last one was meh, and didn't really do anything) and I'm filling out the paperwork before I go in next week.

I'm hopefully going to get tested for ADHD and AS. And while I was listing the symptoms I have a two came up that I started wondering about.

First is attachment to certain people. I remember as a kid that I had a very strong attachment to my grandparents whom I visited each summer. I was so bad that I would break down or throw a tantrum when I had to leave to go back home.

Second is the way people act and analyzing them. I know I have issues when in social situations, but I've noticed that I will try to analyze people to figure out their personality. Sometimes this can last for at 15 minutes to an hour and usually happens after I am by myself.

So I was wondering if anyone else has also done this...

Yeah, my mother. The only time I'd have meltdowns as a child is when I thought she'd be leaving.

It's generally an ASD thingy to have said attachment to a single person over others; some have it for the family as a whole if they're more socially aware.

For the second: I suppose if you have problems with socializing, you'll sit around and watch them to get an idea of how they behave and are. I know my nephew [who has AS], sits down and watches the kids play, then he goes and plays once he's figured it out.
