Seeing subtitles when people talk?

I haven't seen this posted anywhere on the Web, so I thought I'd post it here: Does any of you see subtitles or visual words in your mind (think of a DVD or a HUD), or am I the only one that sees this when people talk as a way to concentrate?

You're not the only one. I see words, signs and dots! And then there's these people:

I see words visually in my head and then they turn into pictures. As a child I didn't even know how to do this so I had a hard time with understanding what was said to me. It was all Charlie Brown. The wah wah wah wah. if I still can't form a image in my head, then I don't understand what I have read or what someone had said to me. I have also pictured a person speaking but I never thought of seeing subtitles, just seeing words visually and then a picture.

I WISH I could see subtitles.

Probably because I transcribed reports from audio cassettes for many years, I spell in my head words I hear. I don't remember if I did that before I did transcription.

Ya, know! Speaking of subtitles. How many of you remember these old "Fallow the bouncing ball." sing a longs.

I had a couple of sing a long tapes with the bouncing ball and I also had some Disney Sing alongs with the Mickey mouse face being the bouncy ball and then it was just words lighting up.

i think visually all the time, hence communication difficulties.

Yes I do ,often ,but not always a type of closed captioning especially when I have a problem with the persons grammar or accent. Growing up, my siblings and I were always correcting the others sentences. We got it from our mother. Btw I was an English major.

closest i came to this sorta synesthetic phenomenon, is "seeing" human faces in the faces of analog clocks, dependent on the juxtaposition of minute and hour hand. sometimes the second hand will be the equivalent of the spectral clock face person wearing glasses.
