Questions:

Would you rather be a NT?
Do you accept being a Aspie?
Had any social skill counselling?

1) I can't say for sure but it would definitely have been nice not to be the school punching bag.
2) Yes, assuming I am an Aspie (99.99% sure), I have come to accept certain things are going to be hard and I am always going to have sensory issues and anxiety.
3) In school, they tried to teach me to be 'normal' and not be target. All it did was make me into a robot and it's easier to beat up a robot vs a teenage boy. I also did Toastmasters and that helped a lot. Recently, I discovered the work of Vanessa Van Edwards on YouTube and it made an AMAZING difference in how I was treated in general. Who knew such simple things as keeping hands visible would make such a difference?

Wait, what? My hands are always in my pockets. Can you link me to the video you're referring to?

1) If I wasn't an aspie, I wouldn't be me, I would be someone else entirely, so no.
2) Yes
3) None

I'm short on time and can't find the specific video but here is channel:

I'm not usually a fan of random internet videos but I have found her suggestions work! Made me realize that my high intelligence was working against me when I met people.

It's what makes me me. I wouldn't change for anybody.

Yes indeed.

I have never been formally diagnosed so no i have not received any counseling. I probably might in the future.

I can't imagine what NT existence would be like, so I it is impossible to form an intelligent opinion on either of the first two points.

I was diagnosed last year while in therapy for other things, which brought up asd as a causative. I have had a little bit of social training, but not after the diagnosis: just a communication class when I was maybe 20. It helped a little. What helped most, though, was methodical observation and mimicry of the patterns of others I observed in successful interactions. Also stage acting, surprisingly enough, was liberating rather than terrifying... I knew exactly what to say.

Yeah, acting is really fun. My entire life is improvising, so it's nice to have scripted dialogue.
