I hate this current generation
It looks like WW3 is more likely than not to start soon and presumably will likely go nuclear and meanwhile if it's not that then it is everything else in society becoming more authoritarian and there is inflation, low birth rates and high death rates. I hate this current generation or there is more bad than good in this modern society. This is coming from one that is at 31 and I believe Generation X and the late Baby Boomers were the last generation to grow up and live completely in a relatively sane and peaceful world, at least in the West that was the case. And when I was in high school around 2008-2009 was the time when it started to be the beginning of the end.
I also can't say I envy those born after '98 and I feel worse for them because if nuclear war does happen they will not be able to live to grow up. I remember feeling like I wasn't going to be able to grow up and be an adult when I was scared about the world ending in 2012 and a few other ones since that one, now I feel like it's eventually coming true after all.
I would also be interested in having PM conversations if you agree or relate to this too.

Stop watching/listening to/reading news like Most highly successful people and you'll be much happier/less stressed.
News media is fear porn. It's their job to scare the s**t out of you and keep you coming back for more fear porn. Meanwhile, in reality, we live in the most peaceful time in human existence when a lower number/percent of people die from any kind of violence than ever before, average lifespans are up etc. A few hundred years ago people died from broadsords on a battle field, a couple hundred years ago they died from disease, injuries, workplace injuries etc so young that the oldest men in the graveyards at famous gold mining towns were in their late 30's. Average American lifespans are declining now only because of diet/exercise, not violence/war.
Stop consuming news, focus on what's in front of you that actually matters in your life.. work, home, play, friends, recreation, sex, music, books, video games, sports, cycling, swimming, hiking, driving, motorcycles, kayaks, paddleboards, high education, skills training and mastery, writing, painting, gardening, engineering - whatever - real life things, not glimpses into every horrible thing that happened in the world within the last 24h produced by some Hollywood type designed to make you feel exactly like you do right now and then come back for more like a junkie. Ditch the news, focus on real life, and then like magic your whole world is SO much better!
Also, no one is nuking anything. It's the world's biggest dick measuring contest. And every nuclear power has checks and balances in place to ensure no madman can just press the button. And any country that might go rogue has so many eyes on them from every other country that they'd be carpet bombed back into the stone age before they could ever press the button. Not really a legitimate concern because heads of military are not so stupid as to completely doom all of humanity by setting off a global nuclear chain reaction. They just like to point their big nuclear dicks at each other and boast that theirs is bigger.

I'm, not sure that's accurate.
My dad's a boomer and he fought in Vietnam. He could tell you about how kids were taught to hide under their desks in school when 'the bomb' came. Duck and cover was a thing in the 50s and 60s in the states. Gen x...we had what, the cold war, the gulf war. None of that is exactly peaceful. As for sane... there's always some crazy thing people are getting worked up over because that's the stuff that sells. It's always a disaster, some imminent doom. That's nothing new.
What you are espousing is a common fallacy - the idea that "this current generation is the worst." Its a form of "nowism" where you think that today is somehow more special than the past or the future.
WW3 is not likely to start anytime soon. Russia couldn't even take Ukraine. Odds are, a significant number of their nukes don't work. We got some anti ballistic missile tech even if they did. We should have more.
There are of course problems but if you had every person that ever existed in the same room, they'd likely feel envious of most of what we have. For most of human history if you fell, got a cut, and it got infected - that could end your life or at least be a lifelong problem. We don't have to struggle to get fed and infant mortality is down significantly especially over the past 100 years.
HIV/AIDS used to be deadly. Its not. We just had the first mRNA vaccine. An actual cure for cancer may actually happen. Fusion power might actually happen. I still believe in the power of the internet to connect people and humanize people to each other across the globe.
The current generation in the West is more empathetic than any past generation I believe in large part due to the power of the internet to humanize marginalized people. This current generation across the world is the first in human history to have the burden to support the older generation in a one time population dip that led to a glut of retired people - and the young are willing to do it despite increased costs.
Inflation is down - it actually was a fairly temporary blip likely due to supply chain disruptions thanks to China shutting down during Covid.
Yes, there are always negative things. But I promise you that in the hypothetical meeting of all humans that ever existed, our complaints would make them angry at us. Our problems are solvable, its just that people don't really understand the complex reasons behind them.
Want cheaper rent? Build higher and open more land up to housing. But people the same people that complain about high rents tend to also complain about building more.
