If you dislike the so-and-so appreciation threads,
If you don't like to read them,
If you don't like when they come up,

YOU ARE WELCOME HERE!

I'll be honest and say that the primary reason I hate "appreciation" threads is because no one's ever made one for me in the past year I've been here.

Plus, I think that people who make them for themselves are too starved for attention.

Ha, I was just about to start an anti-appreciation thread. This works.

They fall in and out of style. I'm eagerly awaiting for them to go away again. I wouldn't mind one big appreciation thread, but to clog up the first page with "The ___ Appreciation Thread!" gets really annoying after awhile.

As far as I can tell, they're either made to say, Hey, I'm friends with this person! or Look at me! threads.

I'll be honest as well: I'm glad no one's made on about me.

I'll be honest and am very glad no one has made
an "AnonymousAnonymous Appreciation Thread."

The temptation to make an appreciation thread
for oneself is simply too much to resist.

I agree with RainSong and IdahoRose over the fact
appreciation threads for individual WP-ers are starting to get old.

One BIG appreciation thread for multiple WP-ers will not bother me as well.

Not unless you want me to sulk for the rest of the day.

Leave it to you to spot that I missed a letter there. Ha, I need to improve on that; thanks for pointing it out.

I've never made one.

One more thing that I don't really get:

If the thread is no longer on the top of the list, the first page of the board, ect, why bump it (especially if you made it)? That is annoying as well. If it's dying, let it die.

Iv only read one of them and it was the one I intended on posting in because I do appreciate how TimTex was one of the first people to Welcome me here and it meant a lot to me at the time (still does, don't get me wrong) and I wanted him to know that I did indeed appreciate it.

Nothing against any one who has started one for themselves or anything , but I personally don't need other peoples good thoughts of me to validate me and help me and feel good about myself. I already know who I am inside.

On the other hand I can see how it would make someone feel good to hear others kind words in regards to themselves, and can understand why they would like to hear (rather read) it.
I agree w/ the inclusive appreciation thread idea. Not that my opinion is of relevance.

No matter how cute you'd appear as you sulk, no, I wouldn't [ever] want to give you a reason to.

I'm just a stickler for linguistic accuracy. No need (I should be apologizing for being so pedantic, but I thought you might like me to point it out, sorry).

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

Made my own because I was curious about what people think of me. Plus I did made one for alex because he works very hard on this site a lot.

I'm sure I wouldn't be cute, but you know this. I know, and thanks.

Yeah, I know; I type too fast to pick it up sometimes. There is (you know how should goes, and anyway, no, you shouldn't be; I appreciate it, and there's nothing to be sorry for. Thank you for pointing it out; I do like you doing such when I screw up).

Is this the only thread not to feel appreciated or are there others?
