When I removed the trailing period in the title and restored the poorly-formed double quotes, "&qu" became "&quo", which tells me that the text is being converted to HTML and then trimmed for length before (or during) storage in the database. I edited the original post to use single quotes instead of double quotes and now it looks good. I can't think of any simple solution to this problem.
