The difficulty is that different people have different ideas about what it is to love one's country. I think the real question is whether the framers would have taken a tough-love stance or said, "My country, right or wrong."

I don't care for farmers' fields. I like farmers' markets, where I can avail myself of fresh produce without getting mud on my shoes.

My favorite state is my own--Washington--because I can gawk at Mt. Rainier while sipping my coffee.

I am a great fan of Puer (aged, fermented Chinese tea), but the good stuff is very expensive, and it takes a lot of practice to get it right. Once you do, you can steep the same leaves over again all day long. It's earthy, a bit smoky, which I like.
