Perfectly normal in the UK I think although I've never actually heard of it happening. Seems to happen in TV programmes and movies though. They usually have a reason for the conversation though, not just "hi, you're pretty, wanna go on a date with me?" I have to say though, I'd feel very u...

I think people do this either as a form of trying to impress their crush or as a defensive mechanism because if you fancy someone, in a way they have power over you so to compensate for that, you try and exert power over them by competing against them and winning.

My dad keeps clearing his throat so loudly I can hear it from upstairs and he does this every two minutes and it puts me in a blind rage for some reason. I have to put my fingers in my ears and think about something else otherwise I end up punching myself in the head. It's misophonia, I think.

I am exactly the same. I can barely concentrate reading a book anymore and I love reading. Same. I usually read about 25 books a year but am only on my fourth this year. :( When I got my diagnosis the psychologist said I have many ADD-traits but that aspergers and ADD are so similiar that they coul...

Well some people are happy when they achieve their dreams and others have deep-seated psychological issues that can never be resolved no matter what, only lessened. Doesn't mean you shouldn't bother trying to achieve your goals. I'm guessing he feels better than he used to.

Ok yes you are definitely way overthinking. I'm sorry if someone says hi to you it has a negative effect for thirty minutes, that doesn't sound nice at all. :( But I'm guessing that is pretty rare. Most people are not going to mind you talking to them beyond perhaps mild discomfort that a stranger i...

I feel uncomfortable around them because they're very loud and often looking for other people to make fun of to make themselves look cooler. Unfortunately I look about 15 so they think they are picking on someone their own age whereas I think if they knew I was nine years older than them, they would...

Gemini. I don't believe in astrology but I want to because I think it's a nice idea. So sometimes I pretend it is real and google whether my current crush's sign is compatible with mine or take the advice of my horoscope or whatever. You could argue that I have a split personality but you could prob...

It's human nature to try and understand one another. Labels are a way to sort thoughts into coherent ideas. I don't have a problem with it personally.

I used to find it so much easier to make and maintain friends online. I wasn't forced to come up with replies on the spot, there wasn't anybody observing me whilst I was doing that, I could make stupid jokes or say things that were slightly pathetic or whatever and it wouldn't matter as much because...

I would divide TOM into Theory Of Irrational Mind and Theory Of Rational Mind (which is called Logic). We're both struggling with TOM, but we Aspies have troubles with TOIM, NTs have troubles with TORM. For them TOM is equivalent to TOIM (they think they have good TOM), because they are all irratio...

They both seem like reasonable questions to me. I disagree with the idea that trust is a choice though. You can choose to act like you trust somebody, you can't choose to stop worrying that they are secretly betraying you. If people could choose to stop worrying, nobody would ever worry about anythi...

From what I've seen, aspies do have trouble understanding each other. Nobody understands something they have never experienced, I think that's probably impossible. You can be supportive without understanding and maybe that's really what you're talking about - any marginalised group is more likely to...
