TabrisAngel, even if you do learn how to hack a Facebook account, you might want to resist the urge. It's illegal, and if you're caught, you'd have worse problems than an abusive sister. I have a sister like yours, but thankfully I don't have to live in the same house as her. I just keep my distance...

I killed the email account given here, but I can't update to my current email address. I want to know if there are replies to my posts, but I'm not going to get any notifications. I've keyed in my current email address, but it keeps reverting to the old address. I can't find a button or option for c...

I'm not a new member, but it's been a little over a year since I've visited here. I just wanted to re-introduce myself. I'm 60YO and I was diagnosed about two years ago. I'm still sorting through why the first half century of my life was so hard, and how to proceed from here. I'm glad to have this g...

I registered with Aspie Affection, but I can't search any more than 15 people, but there are several more pages of members left to search. The site goes non-functional. Is anyone else having this trouble?

I've been called "slow" in work places because I didn't quickly grasp instructions from others, and I think that was because they assumed I knew certain things without being told of them. I learn things and process information differently.

I joined an Asperger's support group recently. The first time I attended a meeting, when I walked into the room, immediately, for the first time in my life, I felt I was with my own species. I felt completely safe and at ease. Everyone in the group has been totally supportive and accepting of me. I'...

Except for people diagnosed in childhood or adolescence, didn't adults diagnosed with AS all start out as "self-diagnosed"? Or un-diagnosed? Are they all wannabes, given how prohibitively expensive a diagnosis is? Since I've had strong suspicions that I have Asperger's (lifelong patterns and family ...

Some years ago I worked at a big corporation where co-workers would scold me, "stop working so hard. You're making the rest of us look bad." I wasn't very happy there. I take a lot of pride in doing a job well. I concur with almost everything Nan said. On the other hand, I interview very well in mos...

I couldn't have said it better myself, Nan. I'm impatient with the games and the absurd questions interviewers are asking these days. I want employers to just please, explain what my job is, tell me what resources I have to get it done, then let me do it. And I've learned from painful experience (an...

i doubt your hypothesis rather strongly. i would think that there are entirely too many variables at work to just label low or high sex drive on being "aspie". it's not an "on/off" switch, after all. I agree. There could be lots of other factors coming into play. I'm 57, and I still have the ...

I welcome them visiting here as long as it's to learn about us, and they're visiting with good will and an open mind. I've got lots of unhappy memories of taunting, bullying, contempt, rejection, and such from NTs, but I've also had many kind, compassionate NTs in my life, and still do. I'm not goin...

I recommend this book: How to Work a Room by Susan RoAne. It's out in paperback. I want to meet people, but I've always been really awkward and shy, and when I do speak, I struggle for the right words. Things come out of my mouth in all the wrong ways, and I have a remarkable talent for saying the w...

I'd say he shouldn't have commented about your age. That wasn't appropriate. Also, the lighting could have been really harsh, and he might not have had the best eyesight, and he's supposed to be keeping his eye on the road anyway. I don't think you're overreacting by taking offense, but I'd also jus...
