Sounds exactly like me. I have always felt that I lacked that which is termed common sense. When I need to make a quick choice in "real life" the outcome is pretty much random. I have always sucked at practical things. I tried playing football when I was a kid, but the first thing I did was to kick ...

I realized I never compliment people. Ever. I want to change that. The most urgent situation is a friendly girl who sometimes talks to me. I don't just want to sit there and receive compliments myself, but also give something back. But I just don't know what to say! I've googled around a bit and fou...

This is one of my biggest problems, together with the constant depression I've lived with for over a decade. I've recently moved to an apartment that I need to share with two other people. After school I feel I need privacy, and so I tend to stay alone in my room with the door shut. The other two ha...

Let me redefine the question: How do know you have a "friend"? Is someone nice you just like to talk to occasionally a friend?. When has the social threshold been reached for justifying the use of the word?

You might not need ndiswrapper. Try to hook it up with an ethernet cable first. If you get an Internet connection that way, you can run update manager and it might download a wireless driver that suits your card. After a reboot wireless may then be automagically working. That's the way I did it when...

High energy consumption and constant freezing is one of them. Constant freezing? Are you sure that you're not talking about XP? Random crashes, compatibility issues, the massive appetite for system resources... Again, that sounds more like XP. Seriously, Vista doesn't crash on me like XP did multip...

Today I only had two classes to take. One early in the morning and another one in programming 3 hours after the first one. Since I basically already know the entire contents of the programming course, I had decided early on to skip this lesson rather than wait for it to start hours later. However, j...

+1 Neutral, slightly positive. Today was a strange day. I woke up after a hard and deep depression the day earlier, not feeling any better. Hadn't been able to get anything done and stayed up too late thinking. We were to present our group project in class, but because of the stuff happening the day...

I think the hate is a bit exaggerated in many ways, but there definitely are shortcomings with Vista. High energy consumption and constant freezing is one of them. I do prefer it over XP, but nowadays Linux is my thing (along with the occasional Windows 7 boot, just for syncing my iPod).

I'm debating this as well. Not that I really need a new computer... But I keep drooling over those new MacBook Pros (they are just so damn sexy 8O). I don't know if I can justify a purchase though, since I mainly use Ubuntu anyway (I'm a big fan of open source). How customizable is OS X? It is Unix-...

Hi! I'm the dude in the corner. The creepy one you usually ignore. In a physical setting, that is how I could have introduced myself. But on the Internet there are no corners. Either that or they are all very large, because there seem to be some more people sitting in the same corner as me. I am a 2...
