Mainstreaming doesn't work. It's basically a way to throw you into a classroom where everybody can make fun of you and you never learn anything for the sake of not excluding you. I've been isolated into my own room before. That is isolation. Having a school for kids who need to be there is not isol...

I think it depends on the intent of the question. Someone being a sarcastic jerk and saying, "S/he must have Aspergers," is rather uncalled for. So is talking about it behind their back but that's mostly because I abhor rumors and smacktalk, though. On the other hand, someone thinking X has Asperge...

I never really liked how there was a distinction between "neurotypicals" and people on the spectrum. People fear what they don't understand, and in some ways it just creates hostility between the two groups.

True. Saying things like "I'm socially ret*d" to your friends will only give them something to rip on you for their own amusement. Don't you just love how NT friends are? :roll:

That type of behavior isn't limited to people without Aspergers. >>;

I'd drop her like a hot potato if she's always avoiding you. A good friend would at least talk about the issues rather than avoid them altogether, IMO.

I don't think it's funny one bit. Probably having something to do with my mother abandoning me when I was 12 and my father wanted nothing to do with me. Yeah. I stopped reading when the description of the kids came up because it kinda creeps me out, joke or not. It doesn't help that "Lexi" is one o...

I personally resent the idea that you have to wear make-up in order to be attractive or to be considered feminine, worse still is that if you don't wear make-up to a job interview more often you will be marked down for not taking care of yourself. I find it annoying that rubbish make-up is fashiona...

Is it possible that the shampoo is too strong for you? Or maybe there's a corresponding conditioner; when I went without conditioner for several weeks, my scalp got dry and itchy.

From my experience, the physical pain seems to improve, where the emotional mess may get worse. I no longer get so sick as I used to (I used to get the "flu"), but I tend to be more prone to monthly depression now. I haven't suffered from it these most recent times, though. What you should also be ...

Greetings. I'm 21 years old and live near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I like role-playing games, foreign cartoon music, drawing, making confections, going on the computer, and exploring. When it comes to TV shows, the closest things I like are the Japanese cartoons Akira and Paranoia Agent. I don't ...

I have heard in America that waitstaff get paid a pittance and need tips to survive. Yes, and worse, apparently they get taxed on the tips even if they don't receive any that night. The solution is so simple: pay your staff enough to live on by taking away the obligatory tip and raising your food p...

I don't understand why people are so interested in watching sports, sometimes to the point where they'll harass you if you make it obvious you're getting annoyed by their whooping and hollering. You love sports, great. Keep in mind you're in a college dormitory and you're not the only person in it.

The thing is, I have great people skills, except for making eye contact. And that seems to be where the problem lies. Most employers won't hire you if you don't make proper eye contact. It's so frustrating! But I suppose that's how it goes; if you're in the least bit socially awkward, you're not go...
