There should be plenty of support programs for people with developmental dissabilities available. I was able to get some help from the county I live in, but I couldn't say if other places are as helpful or not. Try doing some web searches and see if you can find anything.

That is what I'm trying to do, solving said problem. Please be realistic. Worrying about death will only make your life that much shorter and likely more miserable. You're still young, at the prime of your life--chances are that you're not going to die in the near future, so wait till you're sixty ...

I usually spend the day with my immediate family; go out to eat, play games, and maybe watch a movie with my brothers.

See a movie, go out to eat, go to a bar, go shopping... it's your birthday so don't decide what to do based on what your friends want. Leave that to their own birthdays.

The above post reminded me of one of my favorite quotes, said by Ghandi: "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." I know that the world is tough and all, but nothing will get done if we only reflect on the bad things. Perhaps you should try to get some help, maybe turn to the State for...

And she said something about how I brought the diagnosis with me. I don't think she approved much of that, well, at least I'm quite sure. She could have just been a bit skeptical--you have to realize that when most people have no clue about what they might have when they see a doctor and when a per...

Dude, do you really need two consoles? If you want more money for it than I would ask your friend to pay more, otherwise take it to a second-hand game store. However, I think you should consider selling it to your friend if you win the other one--you may get less money, but it would really help out ...

Look at it this way, if you don't go to the appointment than you'll never know if you have AS or not. I used to be nervous about seeing psychiatrists, but all the ones that I've seen were good people that aren't scary at all. I hope everything will turn out okay for ya.

My ancestors were Czech. I can't remember off the top of my head when they came to the US, but I believe it was around the turn of the century.

Definitely "NO". Perhaps aspergers makes some people more prone to creepitude, but I think it depends on the individual rather than their psychological condition.

Look into Adult Protective Services, they are the ones suited to rescue adults in abusive situations I wholeheartedly concur. The state is the best place to turn to in situations like this. Likewise I'm not sure how good the system works out in NJ, but if it's anything like the MN metropolitan area...

I feel the same way, sometimes. If I'm just talking to friends or family and I think I might be doing something weird, they don't normally hold it against me. However, if you feel you may be really putting somebody off, the best thing may be to tell the person that you sometimes have a little diffic...

Thank you again for being so welcoming.

Byzantia sounds like an intruiging game, but I don't think I can devote much attention to it because of school. But I might look into it further sometime.

Thanks for the smilies, emily. Did you like the ones I PMd you?
