There are a few for whom artistic expression flows naturally. Most of us have to sort of hack away at something and them go over it to smooth it out. You might try reading descriptions of the "three act play" to get an idea of a story format. Some just start writing and see where they are i...

Forum: General Autism Discussion   Topic: Are we as concerned about social mishaps as NTs?

Asperger people tend to be more deliberative than NTs who seem to be more reflexive. Social interaction can be difficult for someone "flying" on manual control. However, it can be made easier by having mistake recovery tools. I encountered a guy once who had what I would call a great radio...

Nihilism is not uncommon. It is more common with prosperity and leisure. Consider Solomon; Ecc_2:11  Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun. Solom...

The word "theology" concerns me. It makes it sound like God is a subject that can be mastered. Instead what one does is learn the labels and definitions man has created that gives one a feeling of mastery which in fact makes one more distant. It seems a good way to cripple faith. In a way ...

Most Christian denominations practice some sort of water baptism. Some even feel that this ritual guarantees a place in heaven. A more realistic view sees baptism as a Jewish practice associated with making a change of mind (repentance) However, like the people in ancient Israel, it is difficult to ...

A lot of humor comes from the unexpected, like the joke, "What did the deaf and blind boy get for Christmas.....cancer." Sometimes the truth can only be told in humor. George Carlin told jokes about his Catholic schooling. To the extent that religion seeks truth, it can occasionally find a...

This sort of unexpected event pain can hit hard. There can be an interval when things get better and then it hits hard again. Over a longer period of time repetitive instances become less intense and longer intervals. Going through this hurts, but there will be recovery. Sometimes it can be useful t...

Some people get amphetamines from a doctor for ADHD.

If you have a special interest, you might experiment to see if yu are able to focus better pursuing that. It might be possible to add an intentional component to focus so that you can use it in other areas.

This can be a sensitive subject for some. Here is an interesting link that describes some of the issues surrounding translations. I use the KJV as a starting point. I find the Wuest, Amplified, and Young's literal translations helpful as well. https://christianpioneer.com/blogarchieve/blog257.htm I ...

Being a barber might be stressful both for the precision that is needed and the social conversational demands.

I always liked working third shift jobs that limited social interaction. Another possibility is taking temporary jobs that limit social encounters.

Part of human development is learning how to avoid negative consequences. Some people here freak out if anyone mentions spanking. We found that if you use a wooden paint stirrer (low mass), a few swats on the back of the hand can be an incentive. We would also offer a time out of five minutes on a c...

It used to be that if someone insulted you, you could walk away and find someone else rational to talk with. Since the Internet has narrowed the opportunities to talk, just one person can be toxic enough to poison an entire venue.

As the demands/expectations of life increased, my ability to cope with them decreased.
For me - yes. I'm a good father/grandfather/great grandfather. Apart from that, a failure.

Whose expectations. It seems to me you have succeeded at what is most important.
