It can be helpful to have different "masks". Those situations where Aspie behavior is not acceptable would require the strongest masking. In situations where people know us better such as with family, one can use a mask that is less demanding. It can be a good idea to intentionally make th...

If one considers a neurological variant such that one has a faster, more complex, or more sensitive neurology, one can anticipate that the increased sensory and cognitive information would be burdensome to process. One might also anticipate an intensity of focus that can also produce a deficit of wh...

I think you did well. Being able to say that you don't understand is a very useful and honest response. It can be helpful to have prepared statements that others can find acceptable that you can pull out when needed. I am sorry, I really pushed myself too hard and just need to rest. I appreciate you...

You might try AA for the drinking, it could open some relationship doors. You might see if there is an amateur radio club in your area (different from CB) There are some Arduino clubs for those who experiment with programming microcontrollers. Your electronics background might put you in an advantag...

I was just curious if people had dental experiences where the local anesthetic Novocain seemed particularly effective or ineffective for people with Aspergers.

I have always had to have multiple shots for any effect.

Some people feel that they are the only ones who are allowed to be offended. If you suggest that they might cause offense...well you have seen the reaction. Now that you have seen the reaction, you know what to avoid. One aspect that may have future consequences is that if you are receiving disabili...

Your wanting to try is a good sign. Sometimes it can be helpful to think "outside the box". If your family is upset with you for not recognizing what they expect you to, you might ask them of the could signal you each time this happens. For example, if you made a game of it such as their t...

One might expect that a condition resulting from a neurological variant that presents with a more complex, faster, or sensitive neurology would tend to amplify neurological sensations such as anxiety and depression. One might try to dull the sensations with drugs or alcohol. One might try to focus a...

Suicide can seem like a rational option simply because it seems to offer an end to difficulties. This can seem even more attractive if one has not much experience overcoming difficulties. You sound like a person that could offer much to someone else. You might also be able to receive much from someo...

Using the neurological variant model of Aspergers (faster, more complex, or more sensitive neurology), one might see logical analysis as a coping strategy for the neurologically diverse. Those who do not have to deal with an avalanche of sensations and thoughts may be more free to indulge in what pr...

I wouldn't make too much of a diagnosis. The categorization opinion of someone has little value unless it opens the door to needed services. What is more important is to identify what skills need to be developed or improved so that the highest degree of function can be obtained. There are going to b...

You might want to look into diet and nutrition aspects as well. Less exposure to sunlight may mean a drop in vitamin D. Hopefully it isn't something like Lyme disease. It may be something as common as the dreaded disease AGE.
